Miss Agnes

Miss Agnes Pettibone is such a darling girl. She is delicate and seems dainty despite being a large cat. She's long, lanky and nearly 12.5 lbs of fur covered muscle. We joke that her paws are almost the same size as my hands.

Where Henry chirps, Agnes clucks and has a few long, loud vocal phrases. She's a talker! Always on the bug hunt, her 'ack-ack' sounds burst out of her, seemingly beyond her control. I like to hold her up when there is a spider on the wall just to watch her outburst.

Agnes still enjoys a nice pillow, but the table in her turf. She rolls around and has a endless supply of affection to give along with the occasional nip in the midst of a love frenzy.

Unlike her brother, she doesn't misbehave. She may be putting thoughts in his head, but she's usually standing by watching him get into mischief. She holds her own though and chases, pounces on, and pops Henry with those meaty paws when he has it coming.

One of her many nicknames is 'Waggles' because she walks with waggle in her backside that is accompanied by a curl at the top of her long tail that waves around and she walks.

She's truly a delight.

My Butterscotch Boyfriend

Lovely Henry is one cool cat. I would describe him as unflappable. He is equal parts loverboy and devilish lad. The first time I set eyes on his picture on IBKC I blurted out, 'that's him, that's my cat'. He was adorable but had a ruffled James Dean look about him, as my dear friend Dorothy once said. He is very much the rebel when he wants to be, but lucky for him, we find it amusing (generally).

He's chewed through 8 cell phone chargers, 3 sets of speaker wires, 1 USB cord, and his latest conquest was a mouse. Not the scurrying "eep eep" kind, but the one attached to my computer. This all despite our best efforts to discourage the behavior, hide cords behind object, and develop a sixth sense.

When he's not jumping up the walls, playing cheetah, or pouncing on his sister, he enjoys climbing and entertaining himself with the countless number of toys and ping-pong balls we have around the house.

He is very vocal, but it's mostly constant chirping sounds that sound like he's saying 'bert, bert', however, he's letting his delicate little meow out more and more. I love it and try to get him to talk to me as much as possible.

Henry is a hard sleeper (he wears himself out), a dedicated cuddler and much to my great delight an excellent lap cat.

Splendor in the Grass

The centerpiece on our dining table is usually a fresh bunch of cat grass. Both kitties enjoy a tasty green munch, but Miss Agnes is particularly fond of it. It's her personal jungle and snack bar.

We were having some fun on the table which is where she hangs out and rolls around anytime one of us is sitting at it. She goes belly up for what we shamelessly refer to as tummy time' on a regular basis.

This is was taken mid-yawn, but it's undeniably cute, if I don't say so. Check out the meaty paws on this girl. These cats are almost disturbingly dexterous.
